What’s in a title for a Professional Individual Contributor…  It’s interesting to me that some titles mean quite a bit, and others mean absolutely nothing at all.

Sometimes titles come with great pay, but sometimes the title itself is the compensation.  How many bank vice presidents are there?   Also titles may mean allot in an organization so they have great import when you are looking for another job?

It strikes me that titles are a bit of a crap shoot.. you never know what your going to get and when you get it you don’t know what it’s real value is going to be.  Here are some titles from an interesting website I found.
